Soquel Skate Area at Least Two Years Away
As Capitola struggles to find a suitable spot for a skate park, plans to build a facility in Soquel are slowly moving forward. Santa Cruz County has set aside part of the planned park at the Farm housing project location for a 3,500-square-foot skate area."We have a master plan that's been approved by the Board of Supervisors," said Betsey Lynberg, who heads up the County's Redevelopment Agency.
The skate feature came in response to community feedback.
"We held a series of meetings to talk about the kind of neighborhood park facilities the community would like to see," she said, emphasizing that the whole parcel is not a skate park.
